About CAD

Community Awareness of Drugs was established in 1983 in response to the unprecedented drug-related issues that arose in communities in Leinster at the time. A national federation was established linking many groups throughout the nation. In the 1990s CAD qualified as a registered charity to provide drug education opportunities for parents, carers and community workers. In 1992 CAD launched its successful Family Focus programme which is a six session programme designed to meet the needs of parents and carers in communicating with young people around drugs and alcohol.

Make a Donation

Community Awareness of Drugs is a voluntary organisation and registered charity established in 1983.
That means we are independent of government and are non-profit making. Although we receive somefunding from some government departments we very much depend on the generosity of the general public to allow us to sustain our work.
Assistance of any size would be gratefully received and put to best use.

How your donation might help.
  • €100 would cover the main cost in delivering a Drug Awareness Presentation to a community group/school that needs it.
  • €500 would cover main costs in running a Family Focus Drug Education Programme for up to 20 parents.

Many thanks for your consideration.
